The highlight of his online tournament career came in September 2014 when he won the PokerStars WCOOP Main Event as CrownUpGuy, beating the likes of Faraz Jaka and Viktor Blom at the final table. One interesting tidbit about Holz is that back in October 2013, he started a charity drive on the Two Plus Two poker forums. He set out to play NL500.

This week, the 2014 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) reached its conclusion with its final event, the $5,200 Main Event, which boasted a $10 million guaranteed prize pool. The tournament eventually drew a 2,142 player field to create a prize pool worth $710,000 above its guarantee and after two days of grueling action, it was Austrian poker pro Fedor ‘CrownUpGuy’ Holz, who managed to take down the title to claim the $1,300,000 first place prize.
Fedor Holz has now amassed $2,580,755 from online tournaments playing under his screen name ‘CrownUpGuy’ and commenting following his remarkable victory, said:
“I always wanted to run deep in such a tournament and it feels amazing to win the biggest tournament of the year. It’s my biggest achievement so far and I can’t put in words how happy I am.”
The Main Event attracted some of the biggest online players in the game, and just missing out on a money spot was Matt Stout who went out in 271st, later tweeting:
“Welp just busted on the stone bubble of the #WCOOP Main Event on the first hand back of day 2, JJ
By the time the final table of nine had been reached, Fedor Holz was the chip leader with notable names still in contention including Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom, Faraz ‘The-Toilet 0’ Jaka, and Elior ‘Crazy Elior’ Sion. When just six players remained, a deal was then struck securing $1.1 million for Fedor Holz, $651,000 for the other players, with $200,000 left for the ultimate winner.
Eventually, Holz would then take a 2-to-1 lead over Yuri Martins into the heads-up phase of the competition, and 20 hands is all it would then take before the decisive hand was played. Holz (10-10) and Martins (4-4) committed themselves on an 8-10-4-J-10 board, and after Martins saw the bad news he had to be content with a runner-up finish worth $708,251, while Fedor “CrownUpGuy” Holz claimed the WCOOP title, and his biggest score to date.
Final Table Results:
1 Fedor “CrownUpGuy” Holz $1,300,000
2 Yuri “theNERDguy” Martins $708,251
3 Claas “neckbr4ke” Stoob $651,430
4 Elior “Crazy Elior” Sion $780,227
5 Faraz “The-Toilet 0″ Jaka $945,000
6 Daniel ‘”19Dan86” Rudd $769,813
7 Dylan “Pokerl)eviL” Hortin $214,200
8 Todd “MaltLiquor40” Sisley $160,650
9 Viktor “Isildur1” Blom $107,100

Fedor Holz, popularly known as ‘CrownUpGuy’ on the online poker circuit, is Germany’s all-time leading money winner, with over $32.5 Million in live poker tournament winnings. He has bagged multiple prestigious poker titles including two WSOP bracelets – the second of which was won at GGPoker during WSOP Online Series 2020 – and two WPT Higher Roller championships in his short but illustrious poker career.

Originally hailing from Saarbrücken, Germany, the 26 year old has been unstoppable since breaking out in 2014. That year saw him win the first of two EPT titles. He capped off 2014 with a World Championship of Online Poker title for $1.3 million, a performance that would also earn him the PocketFives.com 2014 online player of year – a title he would win again in 2015.

Fedor is the very definition of the phrase “poker phenom”, however poker success and riches didn’t come easily to him. By his own admission it took four years of grinding before he was able to book consistent profits, but since then he’s never looked back. The living embodiment of what sheer hard work, dedication to the grind and learning from your mistakes can bring you, Fedor is universally popular on his Youtube & Twitch channels as an excellent source of poker strategy and motivation.
